100 Places to Photograph (Also, Exciting News!)

This will be my last post on this blog site! I'm officially starting my own photography business, so within the next few weeks, I'll be moving my blog to my new website. Once I have everything set up, I'll have my blog, photography portfolio, galleries of recent projects, and information about pricing for portrait sessions all on one website. Stay tuned for posts on my new website featuring my last senior of 2013, as well as photos from my recent photography trips. Hopefully I'll have all of that up and running before Christmas!

Anyway, for my last post, I'm focusing not on photos I've taken, but my bucket list for places I want to visit and photograph in my lifetime. This list has come out of a serious case of wanderlust that I've developed over past few years. I have no idea if I'll ever see everything on my list, but I plan on just having adventures as they come along. As Helen Keller said, "life is either a daring adventure or nothing." I'm choosing the daring adventure!

Anna: Class of 2014

This senior is a very special person to me. Anna is my baby sister, and she graduates in just a few short months. Seriously, how is this even possible?

To reminisce a bit, Anna was my little minion when we were younger, always wanting to do whatever I did. Thankfully we're past the point of her crying whenever I wouldn't let her play with me and my friends, and on to the fun part of being sisters where we do things like coffee dates and midnight movie premieres. She never fails to make me laugh, and I always admire how hard she's working to become a teacher. She also enjoys singing and theatre, and she can really ham it up which is probably quite obvious in some of these photos. All in all, she's the best little sister in the world, and I'm so proud of the young woman she's grown into!

Sarah: Class of 2014

Sarah is one of the happiest people you'll ever meet. She just exudes joy, and I love being around her! She also has a very whimsical side to her, which was both fun and a bit of a challenge to portray in her photos. She gave me the opportunity to try some new things and experiment a little.

All in all, her session was ton of fun! We had to spread it over two days because we specifically wanted sunlight for some of her photos. We spent the first morning at a softball field, and then a few days later, we traipsed around the forest, and then found a beautiful open field. When you have an already gorgeous subject and then add some great locations and beautiful magic hour light, it makes for some awesome photos!

Last, but not least, thanks to the lovely Johanna Martin for being my assistant. She writes an awesome blog over at The Dreamer's Day Job. Check it out!

Jordan: Class of 2013

Jordan's senior photos are some of my favorites! We did his photos in the woods surrounding his house, and it was a blast trekking around and finding some great spots for photos. Initially, we had a bit of delay thanks to the incessant rain showers plaguing our area, but we got the photos without getting soaked, which is always a good thing. Plus, Jordan is a mechanic, so we got to play around with some welding equipment for his photos. That was super fun!

Rebekah and Stacey

While in Colorado, I had the blessing and pleasure of working with Rebekah Cook and Stacey Bradshaw. Rebekah played Virginia Page, and Stacey played Loreen, and both did such a great job!

I want to brag on both of these sweet ladies for a moment. I worked with Rebekah both last year and this year, and I'm so thankful that God put her in my path. She has been a fountain of advice and encouragement as I begin the long road of filmmaking. Day to day, when we were on set (and I was usually somewhat stressed out), she was always right there with a smile and a word of encouragement. Seriously, she's such a blessing!

As for Stacey, she's one of the most dedicated people I know! We only worked together for a few weeks, but she really impressed me as someone who really cares about her craft. Most importantly, she really desires to glorify God with her talents, and it's cool to see the opportunities He's giving her! She's such a sweet person, and I really enjoyed getting to know her back in May.

Clearly, these ladies are beautiful both inside and out! The last week of filming, I did some head shots for Rebekah and Stacey. The following photos are from the photo shoot--
