Rebekah and Stacey

While in Colorado, I had the blessing and pleasure of working with Rebekah Cook and Stacey Bradshaw. Rebekah played Virginia Page, and Stacey played Loreen, and both did such a great job!

I want to brag on both of these sweet ladies for a moment. I worked with Rebekah both last year and this year, and I'm so thankful that God put her in my path. She has been a fountain of advice and encouragement as I begin the long road of filmmaking. Day to day, when we were on set (and I was usually somewhat stressed out), she was always right there with a smile and a word of encouragement. Seriously, she's such a blessing!  

As for Stacey, she's one of the most dedicated people I know! We only worked together for a few weeks, but she really impressed me as someone who really cares about her craft. Most importantly, she really desires to glorify God with her talents, and it's cool to see the opportunities He's giving her! She's such a sweet person, and I really enjoyed getting to know her back in May.

Clearly, these ladies are beautiful both inside and out! The last week of filming, I did some head shots for Rebekah and Stacey. The following photos are from the photo shoot--

In His Steps

The main reason for going to Colorado this spring was to finish filming the feature length film, In His Steps. After leaving Grand Junction, we went to Montrose where we spent the next three weeks filming the rest of the scenes for In His Steps. I had the blessing of working with some incredibly talented people. There's something special about being with a group of people who love Jesus more than anything and truly desire to use their talents to glorify Him. We had such a fun time during production!

One of my favorite scenes that we filmed was set in an old western town. We shot it on location in Montrose at the Museum of The Mountain West. It was a perfect location for the scene!

It was a fun scene for everyone, but I think the actors especially enjoyed it!

Colorado: Land of Rainbows and Ponies

This year was the second year in a row that I've spent a good part of my spring in Colorado. I love so much about it-- the striking landscape, the gorgeous mountains, the fresh air. There's so much to see and experience! 

I stayed in Grand Junction for the first three weeks I was there. My friend and I were finishing up preproduction for In His Steps, but we stole a few hours each week to do something fun and adventurous. We went on a hike one evening, and got lost trying to find the trail we wanted. It all worked out when we stumbled upon another path with gorgeous scenery.

A couple days before we left Grand Junction, we decided to see if we could find the wild mustangs in the nearby Book Cliffs. After three hours, two different routes, twenty cows, and a million pot holes, we found the wild horses! 

A thunderstorm was rolling in as we arrived, and we got a glimpse of this gorgeous double rainbows. 

As we rounded the bend, we saw this sight!

One of my favorite things about photography is that I can go into a shoot with an ideal shot in my head, and then walk away with a completely different (and even better) shot. For the above photo, I think this was a once in a lifetime shot. There's no way I could have planned or even imagined a photo like this. It was unpredictable, and I think unpredictability is the heart of Colorado!
